NOTES | Water Poppy is an emergent aquatic perennial with thick, shiny, broadly heart-shaped, dark green leaves, on trailing stems up to 3ft long. They usually float on the water surface, but occasionally rise above. The plant boasts showy light yellow flowers, 2 in. across, adorned with a reddish-brown center and a bouquet of black or brown stamens. Rising up above the water surface, the blossoms last only one day but they are produced in succession over a long summer period. |
