NOTES | A
genus of about seventy species. Phalaenopsis orchids are monopodial, growing vertically from a
terminal growth point. One or two new leaves will appear at the top of the plant
each year, while the older leaves at the base of the plant will die. Phalaenopsis is derived from the
Greek words phalaina, moth; and opsis, appearance. |
