NOTES | This Pandanus
originated from John G. Veitch's travels to the Pacific Rim area in the mid 1860's
somewhere near the island of Amboin. A striking variegated screw pine,
veitchii has long, strap-like leaves arranged in a rosette. They are deep
green with a yellow margin. This plant develops stilt roots with age. Some
experts maintain that Pandanus veitchii is a species native to Madagascar.
Other experts list this plant as a cultivar of Pandanus tectorius. |
