NOTES

Small rounded deciduous tree with thick succulent trunk and sausage-like blunt branches covered with a thin grey bark that grows to 15-25' tall with a vase-shaped form.  It is often planted near Asian temples, where the fragrant flowers are picked daily as religious offerings.

Mexico, Central America and Venezuela

NATIVE HABITAT

Rather dry, often rocky forest and mountain slopes, occasionally on plains or in brushy savannahs
